Nunavut is the newest, largest, and northernmost territory of Canada. It was separated officially from the Northwest Territories on April 1, 1999. Nunavut comprises a major portion of Northern Canada, and most of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.
This page will continue to grow as Suzanne gathers more knowledge about eating locally in Nunavut.
Many villages are sharing communities with no commercial local producers. Instead, food that is harvested from the land, hunted, and grown is shared.
Arviat has also initiated a community greenhouse project.
